HTC One to Become Available in Red, UK Release Date Set for Next Month

Just in case you already got bored of the silver and black HTC One body colors, learn that the Taiwanese company has officially introduced a new body livery: Glamour Red. The Red HTC One will become available for purchase  in Europe as of next month, and the UK will be the first country to get it.

It was confirmed that the British retailer Phones 4U will have it stock beginning mid-July and that the Red HTC One will have a price tag starting at £33 on contract.

The HTC One is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 600 chipset manufactured by Qualcomm, based on four Krait 300 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU. The smartphone also comes with 2 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage (no microSD card support), and a non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery.

HTC One is 137.4 mm tall, 68.2 wide, 9.3 mm thin, and weighs 143 grams, while sporting all the connectivity features worthy of a high-end smartphone: HSPA+; LTE, Cat3, 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, NFC chip, infra red port, microUSB 2.0, and GPS with GLONASS support.

While most of the smartphone manufactures have fitted 13 megapixel cameras on the back of their flagship smartphones (see Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy S4, and LG Optimus G Pro), the Taiwan-based phone maker equipped the HTC One with a 4 megapixel sensor with UltraPixel technology.

The primary camera of the HTC One comes with autofocus, LED flash, 1/3” sensor size, 2µm pixel size, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, optical image stabilization, and full HD video recording support with HDR and video stabilization. The front-facing camera is a 2.1 megapixel unit, also with support for full HD video capture.
